Our Team

Amanda Lyman, CPNP-PC

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Amanda Lyman is a compassionate and dedicated Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who has built her career on caring for children with complex medical and developmental needs. She began her professional journey as a Registered Nurse, working in highly specialized inpatient environments including the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, General Pediatrics, and Pediatric Hematology-Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation. She also served as an individualized nurse in school settings, gaining valuable insight into how medical and developmental needs influence a child’s educational experience.

In her current role at the New Jersey Pediatric Neuroscience Institute, Amanda is committed to helping children and their families navigate conditions that can be both challenging and life-changing. Her clinical interests include dysautonomias, PANS/PANDAS, autoimmune encephalitis, headaches, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders. She approaches each child with warmth, patience, and respect for individuality, combining critical thinking with compassion to provide holistic and empowering care.

Amanda believes that pediatric neurology is the most rewarding field in pediatric medicine, seamlessly blending the art and science of healthcare. She strives to empower parents, instill confidence, and ensure that every child feels valued and understood. Known for taking the time to connect directly with children, Amanda encourages them to share their thoughts while ensuring that parents feel heard and supported. She views each visit as an opportunity not only to treat but also to listen, teach, and partner with families.

Her philosophy of care is rooted in the belief that every child must be seen in their fullness: mind, body, and soul. She is especially committed to recognizing and celebrating the strengths and inner gifts of each child, with the goal of nurturing potential and affirming inherent worth.

Outside of medicine, Amanda finds her greatest joy in her role as a mother. She cherishes time with her children, whether through daily routines turned into playful songs, spontaneous music and dance parties, or family travel. She also enjoys cooking, singing, painting, exercising, and connecting with friends. Her favorite simple pleasures include Häagen-Dazs coffee ice cream and a plate of loaded nachos.

As a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, Amanda remains devoted to advancing pediatric medicine through excellence, compassion, and advocacy. Guided by her belief that every child deserves to be seen not only for their struggles but also for their strengths and individuality, Amanda’s work continues to uplift and inspire the children and families she serves.
