Pediatric Cerebral Palsy and Spasticity Center

CEREBRAL PALSY (CP) is one of the most common and severe consequences of extremely premature birth. Because of improvements in survival rates, very preterm children now account for over 25% of all cases of cerebral palsy. Some children have MILD cerebral palsy and become surgeons, scientists, and lawyers. However, some children have severe cerebral palsy and have seizures, severe cognitive impairment, and cannot walk or talk.

Since the early 1990s, preterm infants have benefited greatly from advances in perinatal care, including prenatal steroids, surfactants, steroids, and new ventilation techniques.

At NJ Pediatric Neuroscience Institute, we have the best pediatric neurologists, rehabilitation medicine doctors/ physiatrists, and neurosurgeons, in New Jersey. We provide care from birth to 100 years of age for children with cerebral palsy. Some of our CP patients are over 45 years old!
